[9:15pm] rc left the chat room. (connection closed)
[9:15pm] yari: For the record, I am going to post what you tried to paste:
[9:15pm] yari: Pmchi: The letter from the Green Party of Alaska was returned due to a lack of a claimant, which means I have no way to get in contact with the Green Party of Alaska. Physically, that is. I’d still like a firm no, so I will try again in March after some time.
[9:16pm] yari: No word yet from Rhode Island. We received an inquiry about forming a pirate party of Missouri. I gave a brief run through with Caden about the necessary steps to take.
[9:16pm] yari: Yesterday, I had a meeting with Common Ground USA, a Georgist organization. The meeting concluded with them asking “Hey Mitch, can you write an article about the Pirate Party for our website? We need to post anything to update the site, so anything you write will be good.” This is a great opportunity to write a fluff piece, talking about the Pirate Party and Pirate Politics in general, and getting eyes on us from a group of folks who are interested in w
[9:16pm] yari: what we are and do. I’ll be writing a piece for us later this week, and if there’s anything in particular you’d like me to mention, please reach out or whip up a section and I’ll comply! That is all from Swarmcare
[9:17pm] pmchi: Muchísimas gracias
[9:17pm] jokeefe: Green Party of Alaska’s web site (https://greenpartyalaska.org/) returns 404
[9:17pm] pmchi: The website is down and the PO Box seems a no-go. Only email seems to be the valid form of contact now
[9:18pm] yari: Thank you for the report, pmchi. Do we have any reports from the treasury? Joe?
[9:18pm] Sayyida_ joined the chat room.
[9:18pm] Joe: Yes, I added MA dues and some personal extra in the amount of $40.

[9:20pm] Megan: Megan Klein, re entering
[9:20pm] yari: Thank you, Joe. Anything from vice-chair? Sayyida? (also can you please re-ID)
[9:20pm] Sayyida: Joe Klein vice chair
[9:20pm] yari: anything to report?
[9:22pm] Bosun_ joined the chat room.
[9:22pm] Sayyida: No
[9:22pm] yari: Okay, thank you.
[9:22pm] Bosun_: Back as bosun
[9:22pm] Bosun_: kinda
[9:22pm] yari: Anything from the secretary? jokeefe?
[9:23pm] jokeefe: No updates.
[9:23pm] yari: And Wodensday you're on deck for Outreach report
[9:24pm] yari: thanks jokeefe. Wodensday go for it
[9:24pm] Wodensday: Outreach’s big ask this week was that I got in touch with jokeefe about the zazzle store. Which I did. I think the hopes now is that we update some of our merch with event handouts in mind.
[9:24pm] Wodensday: That’s all I really have to report. I’m hoping something comes of this by the end of the month
[9:25pm] Joe: May I add a request for the zazzle store?
[9:25pm] Wodensday: Shoot
[9:25pm] Joe: Black shirt, simple flag
[9:25pm] Joe: Vote pirate, demand freedom
[9:25pm] Wodensday: Request noted
[9:26pm] yari: Thank you Wodensday. Is there any discussion or debate with regard to the reports as they have been presented?
[9:26pm] Bosun_: May I comment?
[9:26pm] yari: Bosun_, you have the floor.
[9:28pm] Bosun_: Zazzle - I think is an OK intermediate - It gets gear and a shop. I politically would prefer a union producer using American made products.
[9:29pm] Wodensday: Absolutely noted. It’s sort of a bandaid for the time being for sure. When we can scale we will scale ethically. I think we all look forward to that.
[9:29pm] Bosun_: I have had my say.
[9:29pm] yari: Your comment is noted, Bosun. Is there any further discussion or debate?
[9:29pm] Joe: May I?
[9:29pm] yari: Joe, you have the floor
[9:30pm] Joe: For the national level this should be a good starting point but on a state level local non-corp would be much easier.
[9:31pm] Joe: Find a local print marketing guy or even save for a print press to make our own. Low threshold.
[9:31pm] Joe: I yield.
[9:31pm] yari: Thank you, Joe. Is there any furthere discussion or debate?
[9:31pm] R0b0t1: Addon to that?
[9:31pm] Wodensday: Another good point.
[9:32pm] yari: R0b0t1, you have the floor.
[9:32pm] Wodensday: If I ever need like a banner to put on a table I’m going to my local guy I know and I would suggest everyone else do the same
[9:32pm] R0b0t1: Comment in this vein, though maybe he's just talking about merch -- I don't know what finances look like or how you're intending to structure things, but a good first step is probably to help people find the info in their state to run as an independent without a party. It can be easier to do this. I looked up doing this in my previous residence, MO. There are often very local positions that can be used to gain a foot into the door, but I think it equally v
[9:32pm] R0b0t1: alid.
[9:32pm] R0b0t1: to go for a higher position
[9:33pm] R0b0t1: Even if you don't win you're forcing people to interact with consituents.
[9:33pm] Bosun_: Even unions have no objections to volunteer labor using a silk screen.
[9:33pm] R0b0t1: I'm done, apologies if the discussion was supposed to be about shirts still :')
[9:33pm] yari: Thank you, R0b0t1. Is there any further discussion or debate on the reports as given?

[9:35pm] yari: hearing none, we will move on to old business.
[9:36pm] yari: In old business, there is a tabled motion to add a requirement for eligibility to officer positions.
[9:36pm] yari: I recommend everyone read it as written in the agenda: https://wiki.uspirates.org/w/index.php?title=PNC_01/16/2022

[9:36pm] jokeefe: I updated it, as requested
[9:36pm] yari: I saw, thank you.
[9:37pm] jokeefe: also added a bit of clean up
[9:38pm] Bosun_: I will be happy to move it if the scretary will cut and past the text into the IRC
[9:38pm] jokeefe: doing so
[9:38pm] Wodensday: When the time comes I’d like to amend part of the proposal.
[9:38pm] jokeefe: A tabled motion to update ARTICLE IV: Officers, §1 to change the bullet points to numbers;
[9:38pm] jokeefe: and ARTICLE IV: Officers, §2 to:
[9:38pm] jokeefe: Section 2: Eligibility
[9:38pm] jokeefe: To be eligible to hold one of the positions set forth in Art. IV §1, a candidate must:
[9:38pm] jokeefe: be an active member of their State Pirate Party, or actively involved in Pirate politics if no state party exists;
[9:38pm] jokeefe: attend at least one meeting prior to any vote to appoint them where PNC members can interview them. Meeting may be by video or IRC, but potential candidates must be able to answer questions asked by PNC members in the forum;
[9:38pm] jokeefe: To be eligible to hold the position of Captain set forth in Art. IV §1.1, a candidate must not be a Representative of a Member State, or must abdicate the role of Representative upon election as Captain.
[9:39pm] yari: Bosun_, I take that as a motion in favor of passing this?
[9:39pm] Bosun_: So moved
[9:39pm] yari: lovely, thank you. Do I hear a second?
[9:40pm] pmchi: I’d like to hear Wodensday’s amendment first
[9:40pm] Megan: aye
[9:40pm] Megan: yari: you hear a second to hear it
[9:40pm] yari: We can make amendments if there is a second
[9:40pm] Wodensday: I would suggest we change “IRC” to “text” so this interview could be conducted over discord if that’s what we decide. I see no reason to limit it
[9:40pm] yari: but sure, I get the picture.
[9:40pm] Wodensday: Ah, I get it
[9:40pm] yari: We all need a primer on RONR
[9:40pm] Wodensday: I’ll second for the sake of making my argument
[9:41pm] Wodensday: I know that’s wacky
[9:41pm] Wodensday: But hear me our
[9:42pm] yari: Wodesnday - that's a great amendement to propose.
[9:42pm] jokeefe: text could be stretched to include email …
[9:42pm] Wodensday: Live chat
[9:43pm] Bosun_: How about Meeting may be by video or IRC, or other shared electronic media ...
[9:43pm] pmchi: Text is a nice, broad word
[9:43pm] Joe: Too broad unfortunately. We are better off being specific.
[9:43pm] Megan: I dont understand
[9:43pm] Joe: 2nd Bosun's version
[9:44pm] yari: Bosun, do you accept the second?
[9:44pm] Bosun_: yes
[9:44pm] Joe: Broad = more ways to find loopholes
[9:45pm] yari: It has been properly moved and seconded to amend the motion to read: "meeting may be by video or IRC, or other shared electronic media".
[9:45pm] yari: Is there any discussion or debate?
[9:45pm] Wodensday: I’m fine with However want to do it, I just want to expand it a little. I’m good with this
[9:45pm] yari: further discussion or debate?
[9:45pm] Megan: I understand. no questions from me
[9:46pm] pmchi: None
[9:46pm] Bosun_: call the vote please
[9:46pm] yari: hearing no further debate, please vote aye or nay to amend the motion.
[9:46pm] Wodensday: Aye
[9:47pm] Megan: aye
[9:47pm] pmchi: Aye
[9:47pm] Bosun_: Megan is voting WI

[9:47pm] yari: the amendment is passed 4-0
[9:48pm] yari: We are back at the main motion, which has now been modified.
[9:48pm] yari: Is there any further discussion or debate on the main motion, which I will post a modified version of shortly?
[9:49pm] Wodensday: No other debate from IN
[9:49pm] jokeefe: Motion to update:

[9:49pm] Bosun_: Chair please call the vote please
[9:49pm] jokeefe: I removed the extra “or” in the added text so it would read better.
[9:49pm] Bosun_: cool
[9:50pm] yari: Bosun_, while I appreciate your enthusiasm to get the meeting over with, I also would like to wait a moment so that others have a chance to type.
[9:50pm] yari: There is a very specific amount of time that I always wait before calling votes and it is the same every time.
[9:50pm] Bosun_: My appologies for mt breech of decorum.
[9:51pm] Bosun_: .. my ..
[9:51pm] yari: Hearing no further discussion or debate, please vote aye or nay on the main motion, as posted above.

[9:52pm] Joe: Aye

[9:54pm] papegaai: Title: Alibaba Manufacturer Directory (at m.alibaba.com)
[9:54pm] Joe: Printing press for $125
[9:54pm] Wodensday: Yari, would it be an appropriate time to suggest opening the can of worms? I doubt we could really get into it until next meeting obviously
[9:55pm] Wodensday: The can of worms that rhymes with schminternational
[9:55pm] Joe: Sorry for the interrupt but that is a pretty low threshold for us to make our own.
[9:55pm] Wodensday: I’ve taken the note, it’s interesting at least
[9:56pm] yari: The main item on the agenda for today was the Pirate National Conference. It is also imperative that this body discuss how it uses Discord as a tool for growing and how we moderate that space. We are also nearing the end of the meeting time.
[9:56pm] Wodensday: Ah, sorry, I didn’t know we had proper new business.
[9:56pm] pmchi: Joe I will personally fund the purchase, minus shipping, if we can establish someone will be the holder/printer/shipper
[9:56pm] yari: And Wodensday, I don't think I remembered to put that on the agenda. Can I put it on there for next time?
[9:57pm] Wodensday: 👍
[9:57pm] yari: okay thank you.
[9:58pm] yari: Since we are at time, I will make a friendly suggestion to this body that we put as the main items of business next time Two of our three important things
[9:58pm] yari: Since we're only likely to get through that much.
[9:58pm] yari: If that
[9:58pm] Joe: We can add that to new business in a future meeting
[9:58pm] yari: Our three important things, as a reminder:
[9:59pm] yari: 1. The question of the PPI
[9:59pm] yari: 2. The question of Discord
[9:59pm] yari: 3. The question of The Pirate National Conference
[9:59pm] Joe: Motion to add 10 minutes to the meeting?
[9:59pm] Bosun_: Is th at to join or not (PPI)?
[9:59pm] Wodensday: A general discovery and discussion process inevitably leading to that question, yes
[10:00pm] Wodensday: Joe - I’ll humor a second
[10:00pm] yari: Properly moved and seconded to add ten minutes to the meeting. Please vote aye or nay.
[10:00pm] Bosun_: Move we add 10m
[10:00pm] Joe: Aye
[10:00pm] pmchi: Aye
[10:00pm] Megan: aye
[10:00pm] Wodensday: Age
[10:01pm] Wodensday: (Aye)
[10:01pm] yari: Motion passes, we stay for another 10 minutes.
[10:01pm] Megan: passing Wi vote to Bosun_
[10:01pm] yari: Thank you for being here, Megan. Safe sailing -
[10:01pm] Wodensday: I will gladly suggest PPI should be last. I was unaware of the order of our new business and it is not very pressing
[10:02pm] Bosun_: Then move what you will first
[10:02pm] Bosun_: Please
[10:02pm] jokeefe: That is the least pressing. Thanks Wodensday
[10:02pm] yari: Suggestion noted, Wodensday. Do we have a second to that suggestion? That would put Discord and Pirate national Conference up first for next time
[10:02pm] Joe: 2nd
[10:02pm] yari: properly moved and seconded. any discussion or debate?
[10:03pm] jokeefe: Friendly amendment?
[10:03pm] yari: please, propose it.
[10:03pm] Bosun_: To clearify - we are tabling the two items Discord and Convention to next meeting.
[10:03pm] jokeefe: Couldn’t Wodensday suggestion be a friendly amendment?
[10:03pm] yari: That is my understanding also Bosun_
[10:04pm] Bosun_: Can you ammend a move to table?
[10:04pm] yari: jokeefe amendment to what?
[10:04pm] jokeefe: nevermind
[10:05pm] Wodensday: To clarify confusion, you’re happy to take that as the motion that you took it as
[10:05pm] yari: Please vote aye or nay on the motion to table the two items Discord discussion and Pirate National Conference until next week.
[10:05pm] Bosun_: Aye
[10:06pm] pmchi: Aye
[10:06pm] Joe: Aye
[10:06pm] yari: Wodensday?
[10:07pm] yari: Okay calling the vote, 3-0 passes
[10:07pm] Wodensday: Aye
[10:07pm] jokeefe: So what is happening to “The question of the PPI”? Is that just dropped?
[10:07pm] Bosun_: slow returns
[10:07pm] yari: When do we want to talk about PPI? Doesn't need a motion because it wasn't on the agenda, just curious
[10:07pm] Bosun_: I move we vote on PPI memebership.
[10:08pm] yari: right now, Bosun_?
[10:08pm] Bosun_: Why not?
[10:08pm] yari: I'm open to seconds
[10:08pm] Joe: Let's get it over with, 2nd
[10:08pm] yari: okay it's been moved and seconded. Discussion or debate?
[10:08pm] Wodensday: I have zero context on why it’s such a strange topic, so I figured a discussion or discovery may do us some good
[10:08pm] Joe: Would we need to elect a representative?
[10:09pm] Wodensday: However, since it seems we are rather decided, I’ll let this happen I guess?
[10:09pm] yari: PPI had dues - I feel we should know the amounts and have those posted here for the record
[10:09pm] jokeefe: Discuss in 1 minute?
